My Mission
I help women simplify by honoring their internal, relational, spiritual, and environmental connections.
My Books
It’s time to move from striving to experiencing.
Have you pared down your wardrobe, taken minimalism challenges you found online, or organized your belongings into bins with beautiful labels? Do you still feel like there’s more fulfillment, peace, and internal harmony just out of reach?
You need a mindset shift – from how to declutter and organize to what’s beneath the surface.
This 40-day program will take you on the path of connection – to nature, others, spirituality, and yourself – that will guide you to discover that simplicity isn’t what you remove, it’s what you return to.
Connected simplicity awaits.
“From the cradle to the grave, in his needs as in his pleasures, in his conception of the world and of himself, the [wo]man of modern times struggles through a maze of endless complication.”
Though Charles Wagner penned these words over 125 years ago, they are truer today than ever before. Sharing his timeless observations, Suzanne Searcy Johnson infuses poetry and commentary into selections from Wagner’s book, The Simple Life, making this profound treasure accessible to today’s reader.
A sweet and delightful chapter book for young readers.
Sofia loves to explore the forest with its welcoming animals and lovely wildflowers and trees. Join her adventures as she meets friends and learns some unexpected lessons along the way.
Charmingly illustrated by Kim Gatto, I Did Not Know That by Suzanne Searcy Johnson celebrates the beauty of nature, the companionship of animals, and the importance of accepting and caring for ourselves and others.
Cherished Clay is a collection of poetry that spans almost three decades of Suzanne Searcy Johnson’s life. It deals with topics such as injustice, love, loss, and recovery. This collection ultimately reflects her belief that beauty can come from disaster–as it has in her own life.
About Me
I am a writer, poet, and simplicity advocate. I guide women gently from overwhelm and complication to meaningful simplicity. Currently taking a “Grown-Up Gap Year,” I’m writing about becoming an empty-nester, downsizing to a tiny home, and deepening connections while embracing simplicity. I live with my lap cat, Spike, in a tiny home community in Austin, Texas.
Vital Simplicity: 12 Weeks of Reflection and Growth
My passion is helping women recognize they are exactly who they are meant to be–in this very moment. I’ve created a guide that is meant to support you on your journey to simplicity, connection, and growth. Each week, there is a prompt for reflection as well as exhale moments that encourage conscious breathing. My hope is to inspire as you focus on what’s important to you!
“So I left all
There
On the verdant
Ground
And in the open
Sky
And walked
Unencumbered
To my bright
Destiny”
—From “Burdens”
“It's now time to move
Take the inner strength you've earned
The creativity you've found
And let your clear voice be heard
In this broken place of need”
—From “Courage”
“Find me here
And spread out the highway
Like a picnic blanket
And let the breeze remove
All those white dashes
And give me a blank page
To write on”
—From “Vision”
“This is relationship
Not an erasure
Of the soul-searing hurt
But a walking through
Together”
—From “Sit”
“I took the long way around
To find a simple peace
Lessons learned and tears released
Freedom found me finally
In the terms of my surrender”
—From “Surrender”
